Asta Vilhelmina Gudmundsdottir (b. 1963) studied fashion design at Pforzheim University and received her diploma in 1990. From 1996 to 1997, she was at the State Academy of Art and Design in Stuttgart; from as early as 1989, she had been working for the State Theater, Stuttgart. Until 2000 she designed stage costumes, e.g. for the musical Evita at the Icelandic Opera, and for the Icelandic Pavilion at Expo-2000 in Hannover. Her label, asta creative clothes, was founded in 2000.

Anna Kristin Bæk (b. 1978) has been working with theatre and dress design from a very young age. After collage she moved to Copenhagen, where she attended the Film and Drama Folk High School and went on to study Theatre Research at The University of Copenhagen. Following this she was admitted to Columbineskolen �" The International School of Fashion and Design and graduated there as fashion designer in 2002. In 2005 she completed a postgraduate course in Design Technology at Hellerup Textile Academy.
ANNABAEK started working freelance whilst doing her courses. She has designed costumes for dance groups, choirs, and individuals. She is the personal designer for Danish folk singer Stine Michel.
Her career took off suddenly in 2004, when she was the costume designer of the large-scale production of the musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat by Andrew Lloyd Webber in the Nordic House on the Faroe Islands �" a record-breaking production on the islands. She designed costumes for more than 80 actors, singers, dancers, and musicians. After the great success she was invited back in 2006 to design and create costumes for Fame - The Musical in the Faroe Islands.
Within the Danish theatre scene, ANNABAEK has trained and worked for periods of different length at Caféteatret, Plan B and Den Anden Opera �" all in Copenhagen. From 2006 to 2007 she was assistant costume developer at Husets Teater in Copenhagen. During this same period she worked part time as a tailor at Fleur Pearsson Skrædderi, Copenhagen.

bARBARA Í gONGINI graduated in 1996 from Danmarks Designskole, Institute of Unica Design. She has been involved in many design-related activities and has received several design awards and grants. Furthermore, Barbara í Gongini has been a member of several design adjudicating committees, etc. In 2008 Barbara í Gongini was awarded a work grant from the Danish Arts Agency, a unit of the Danish Ministry of Culture.

Mundi or Guðmundur Hallgrímsson, (f 1987). At the age of 16 Mundi went to the Hamrahlíð College and then at age 17 to Reykjavík Technical College were he mainly studied Ceramics. At age 18 he applied for the Icelandic Academy of The Arts and was accepted. At that time he was already working as a graphic designer. Mundi has been doing fashion designing since 2006 along with various arts, graphic designs, installations and paintings ect. He is also a member of the art-grop MoMS and has worked with Geletin international. He has travelled with them around the world doing installations and stuff like on the Venice Biennale

The MUNDI label was established 2007. The AW09 collection “The Guts of our Forfathers”. is Mundis 4th official collection.

Steinunn Sigurdardottir (b. 1960) studied at the Icelandic College of Arts and Craft in 1981-82, and in 1982-86 she completed here training in New York, at the Parsons School of Design, Department of Fashion Design, where she graduated with honors. In 1986-87 she worked as an assistant to Carmelo Pomodoro and then went on to work for Polo/Ralph Lauren, where she was responsible for knitewear and yarn research for the collection department. In 1988-89 she worked as an independent designer of knitwear collections CK Sport, CK jeans and CK Home furnishing from 1989 to 1995. From 1995 to 2000 she was director of design at the Gucci Group. From 2000 to 2002 she designed the complete pret-a-porter collection of La Perla where she was Design Director. In 2000, Steinunn Sigurdardottir founded her own label, STEiNUNN.

The fashion label Spaksmannsspjarir was founded by designers Björg Ingadottir (b. 1963) and Vala Torfadottir (b. 1955) in 1993. Björg Ingadottir trained at the Copenhagen Academy of Fashion Design. Vala Torfadottir graduated from Icelandic College of Arts and Crafts in 1979.

Gudrun & Gudrun is owned by two Faroese women and the creative process of design is very closely linked to the isolation of the place. “It’s good to come to Europe for input and inspiration, but it’s crucial to come back home to the silence and not be disturbed by the hectic life of fashion” the designer concludes.

Nauja Lynge Lyngesen, born in 1965, is from Greenland but works and lives in Denmark. She has worked at the manufacturing process of clothing, has her own kidclothes collection Cozykids and now works at her own label Arctic Designers. She has specialized greenlandic material and uses traditional greenlandic storytelling when mediating her design. Her design tells the story of a whole nation. Now Nauja is developing sharkskin that is strong and with high quality. Arctic Designers

Behind ISAKSEN // design are the two designers Rita and Nickie Isaksen. They are both born in Greenland. Between them they have years of experience from the fashion, design and textile industries.
ISAKSEN // design was founded in 2002. The collections are characterized by the distinctive, minimalist approach, emphasizing contrasting graphic lines and feminine cuts. ISAKSEN // design emphasizes comfort, functionality and durability.
All work is inspired by multicultural influences from both Asia and the Arctic Circle. Using an uncompromising choice of the best natural products, ISAKSEN// design creates a refined look for the style-conscious woman.
The refined look, functionality, comfort and durability in ISAKSEN // design's collections are achieved by using construction techniques developed by the two designers.
Black, red and white appear frequently in ISAKSEN // design's collections. In the Greenlandic spirit world, these colors are highly symbolic. Black, the world of spirits. White, ancestral bones. And red, the blood of life.
Combined with the special developed construction techniques, ISAKSEN // design select fabrics that provides both comfort and durability. ISAKSEN // design are frequently recognized by their elegant designs made from boiled wool in particular.
ISAKSEN // design makes use of an extremely high quality of boiled wool. This raw wool has to first undergo a thorough selection process before it is carefully washed without using softeners or other chemicals. Pure new wool is the perfect natural product, and boiled wool is also highly durable. The exceptional elasticity of these garments serves to hold their shape, while their air volume guarantees a high level of comfort in hot weather, as well as effective protection from the cold. Boiled wool is also stain resistant. If it gets dirty, dry cleaning is recommended.

Lauja Lynge Lyngesen (b. 1965) is a designer from Greenland.
It is uncertain how marketable sealskin will be in the future,' says Nauja Lynge Lyngesen of arctic designers. Thus, she is looking to use sharkskin in her designs as a sustainable supplement or replacement for sealskin.
